The Descent

The Descent

A striking and captivating painting of the biblical story of Moses receiving the tablets of stone on Mount Sinai is brought to life with a contemporary twist. The mountain, engulfed in big flames of fire, stands as a powerful symbol of the monumental event that unfolded in the history of the Jewish people. Below, the people of Israel gather in anticipation, standing in awe of the great miracle and the power of the divine. Strong vibrant colours of red, yellow, and blue splash across the canvas, creating adynamic and lively visual representation of this sacred moment. The heavy texture adds a tactile element, inviting the viewer to touch and immerse themselves in the intensity and depth of the scene, evoking a sense of connection to the spiritual significance of the story.

Jacob’s Ladder

Jacob’s Ladder

The ladder pulses with a golden glow, shimmering as though woven from light itself. At the summit, a radiant light shines, hinting at the presence of God—an immense, compassionate gaze that watches over Jacob sleeping below encompassing all who seek connection with the divine. The ground below is dark and humble, representing Jacob’s mortal journey, while above, the ladder is alive with hope, carrying the promise of covenant and the reassurance that heaven touches earth, even in moments of solitude and despair. The painting breathes with mystery and awe, capturing Jacob’s vulnerability and the unfathomable power of the dream—a vision of divine mercy descending into the ordinary.

Repentance

Repentance

A scene filled with intensity and strong emotion, sin, repentance and forgiveness. Moses, descending mount Sinai smashes the first set of tablets, enraged by the sight of the children of Israel worshipping a golden calf. This moment of brokenness and humility, sin and anger, serves as a crucial turning point, a new beginning showcasing the power of acknowledging one’s mistakes and seeking forgiveness. Through this process, the Jewish people demonstrated their faith and commitment to God despite their human flaws. Reflecting on their actions, seeking reconciliation, and ultimately strengthen their relationship with God.

The Covenant on Sinai

The Covenant on Sinai

This painting depicts a moment of intense grandeur and divine power, capturing the biblical miracle of Moses receiving the Ten Commandments on Mount Sinai. At the top of the mountain, a white swirling cloud of glory dominates the sky, dense and radiant, infused with an unearthly glow, pulsating with life. Fire pours down from the heavens, adding an overwhelming sense of holiness and power. The mountain beneath glows, casting a reddish, otherworldly light. From the cloud, divine rays of light break through, focusing on two stone tablets, the very air around them is filled with the spiritual energy of the divine. At the foot of the mountain, a small glimpse of the Israelites camped in fear and awe, shielding their faces from the overwhelming presence of God on the mountain.

Jacob’s Dream

Jacob’s Dream

This painting of Jacob’s dream mesmerises with its depiction of a spiritual stairway ascending to heaven, evoking a profound sense of transcendence and divine connection. Small angels hover delicately, serving as ethereal guardians, guiding and protecting us on our journey towards the light. The heavy texture and use of gold leaf add a sense of richness and sacredness to the composition, enhancing the awe-inspiring nature of the scene. The beautiful shades of blue and white evoke a sense of purity and serenity, creating a harmonious blend of colours. Through this artwork, the emotional journey depicted leads us out of the ordinary realm of existence and towards a place filled with hope, faith, and a profound sense of belief in the transcendent power of the divine.

The Flood – A new beginning

The Flood – A new beginning

I love this very vibrant painting using uplifting shades of turquoise, cerulean and cobalt blues. You can feel the movement and physical essence of the wave, crafted from a plethora of pebbles, sand and paint textures. The mix of different materials and techniques creates a sense of depth and richness, inviting you the viewer, to feel the movement and energy of the scene. The dove symbolizes the end of the destruction and the beginning of a new world.

The Crossing

The Crossing

This awesome painting holds a special place in my heart. The escape of the Jewish people from the darkness towards the light, full of hope and promise. A spiritual and emotional transformation that would forever shape the identity of the Jewish people. As they crossed the sea, walls of water towering on either side, the sheer miracle enveloped them. Bathed in the light of the divine, they knew that they had been truly blessed by a miracle of epic proportion. Gold leaf, glass crystals, texture and vibrant colours symbolise the richness of freedom.
